The grand characteristics

                                                              The Grand characteristics
The symptoms essentially found in a remedy, during proving, Is called grand symptoms for that remedy. These are the symptoms found in a particular remedy, in general. It has been offered  a place due to it’s importance. Our ancestors have made every attempt to  help us find one single remedy for a patient. The grand characteristic symptoms help us choose the right remedy for the patient. But the study of only the grand symptoms can never be enough for curing a case. If you are dependent only one the grand symptoms, you can never cure  a case.
The advantage of grand symptom is that we can easily come to know a remedy. But only grand symptom, is never sufficient to know the single remedy, indicated in a patient. What you know if the grand symptom is that of an antidote. The totality of  of the symptom is always the supreme.
The disadvantage is that, only few patients develop the grand symptoms in early age. the biggest draw back of the grand symptoms is that it develops only after the infection as developed to it’s very-very chronic form. Knowing only the grand symptom will mean that the patient  can only be cured, if he has developed grand symptoms, and not before. That too is not guaranteed. My  be it is too late.

Although it is never too late for the Homoeopathy but still, the grand symptoms are found in the later stage. By merely reading the grand symptoms, the right remedy can never be traced. May be the related remedy has displayed it’s grand symptom. Refer single remedy selection. Consideration of the totality of the symptoms is always the prime guide.

Nosode

                                                                    Nosode.
Nosodes are prepared on the basis of the fact that every disease has it’s own curing agent.  The curing power is inherent in the disease itself. The diseased part of the  body  or  the organ is used for the preparation. Nosode work something like palliative medicines. Dr. Nash has written, in Leaders, that Homoeopaths use Nosode out of quantum jealousy. They are not able to cure the case and therefore they attempt giving relief and benefit by using Nosode.
I experimented only two Nosode-Syphilinum CM and Medorrhinum CM. It created rheumatic symptoms- neck pain etc. Mind symptoms were more prominent. Loosing line of talk, tendency to wash hands always etc.
The important things to bear in mind is that -

  1. Nosode should be used only in highest potency.
  2. Only micro-micro quantity should be used.
  3. This  has no antidote.
I heard a case. The patient had developed tumour. He has used Nosode in low potency. The cause of the tumour was considered to be the use of Nosode in low potency.
I also heard  that to antiodote the highest potency, we can use the low potency of the same remedy. That means high  potency of a remedy can be antidoted by the low potency of the same remedy. I never tried antidoting any high potency nosode by it’s low potency preparation, so I can not write much about it. I tried to antidote Hepar sulphur 1M by Hepar sulphur 200 and 30 but it did not produce favourable results.
We must not go in rare things. Instead we must follow the proven and main stream. There are suggested antidotes for each remedies and we must select any one according to the case in hand. Antidoting a remedy requires a correct judgement of remedy and it’s potency which can be learnt only be experience.  Please refer htysolutin.blogspot.com (How to antidote a remedy)
